Wonderful elephant interaction Absolutely amazing day with the elephants. We chose this company as we wanted to have an ethical elephant encounter where the elephants aren’t forced to do anything. All the elephants at the sanctuary have been rescued from riding, logging, or the circus. The elephants seem to live a very happy life here. They have a lot of acreage roam around freely on. We never saw them be mishandled or treated badly. The mahouts take very good care of them. We never felt unsafe around the elephants, even though they can be intimidating when you get up close to them. The elephants won’t be forced to interact with you, but they are extremely food motivated and will happily come up to you to get treats. We were given lots of bananas which the elephants couldn’t get enough of. We also made some healthy snacks to give them. We loved giving one of the elephants a bath. She happily munched on corn stalks in the pool while we scrubbed away. Such a great experience. Choose this company, you won’t regret it.

An unbelievable day! We had a brilliant time at Lanna! From the communication with Mr Pop during the booking process, the transfer provided to the lunch and the knowledge of the Mahouts. We chose Lanna because it seemed the most ethical, and not too much of a business where others have multiple branches and cram tourists into the same time frame. We were a group of 5 and it was just wonderful. The knowledge and care of the staff, and the experience itself is one I will never forget. Excellent value for money too considering the small group sizes.

Ethical & authentic experience! We did research before deciding which sanctuary to go to as there are a lot of options in the area. We landed on the Lanna small group experience as the most authentic and ethical. We were so happy with our choice! The guide Alex was great and informative sharing information about all the different elephants and where they were rescued from. It was great to see the elephants being so well taken care of and loved! We walked, fed, and bathed the elephants during the experience.

Great experience with Elephants My wife and I were the only two booked for the afternoon tour meaning we were able to have a good close up experience with the 5 Elephants at the sanctuary. Our guide Pu seemed very knowledgeable and experienced with them and was able to share with us the different personalities and quirks of each individual elephant. We were able to pet and feed the elephants, were shown how to make vitamin balls for them and bathed one of them. It seemed that the animals were able to roam and do as they please within the properties 40 acre plot of land and their main interest was always any food on offer. None of the animals were chained or leashed in any way and were only ever enticed into interaction or activity by food. When left to their own devices they seemed a lot more interested in grazing than engaging with tourists.

Amazing Experience I spent a lot of time deciding whether we wanted to visit an elephant park. I read through descriptions very carefully to make sure the venue was ethical. For anyone on the fence, focus on what the alternative is for these animals. In the case of Lanna, the elephants were rescued from riding and logging camps and a circus. These are abusive environments, while the care at Lanna is quite the opposite. The elephants roam freely, and are only encouraged to move around using food as an attractant. Group size is small. In the case of our visit, we were the only two doing the full-day tour. This was an amazing experience. We were provided with important instructions and then proceeded to spend time with the elephants. Whether you like the idea of humans interacting with wildlife or not, the money generated by visits pays for the expensive care and for the purchase of additional animals from bad situations. Yes, they have to be bought, for large sums, especially if they are young.

Perfetto!!!! Esperienza indimenticabile!

Fantastic Ethical Elephant Sanctuary in Chiang Mai! We came here from a recommendation from a friend as we wanted to be sure to see elephants in an ethical sanctuary. Our host Alex was a fantastic host (with a super playlist for the drive to and from the sanctuary) 🙂 He brought us through details of the elephants they have rescued and their personalities so we knew how to interact with them! We fed the elephants bananas/ made protein balls for the elephants to have too and got to bath them at the end and walk through a trek with them (most importantly about this sanctuary was that the elephants were never brought to us or anywhere they didn’t want to go, we follow them ❤️) thank you from your Irish friends Niamh and Eoin x

Great elephant experience, and great setting Went to Lanna Kingdom Elephant Sanctuary and it was such a great setting. The guide Alex was really informative and all the mahouts were excellent with the kids. We had a great time and are very appreciative to the team their. We visited four sanctuaries during our visit and loved this place and 1 other the most.

Great expercience! Lanna Elephant Kingdom exceeded our expectations. We are a family of 5, 3 adults and 2 kids (a toddler) and everything worked out incredibly! We were looking for an ethical sanctuary where the elephants roamed free, no riding and in general look out for the elephants. Our guide Pu was amazing, the staff was great, nice and very friendly. The pad thai at lunch was excelent. In general terms Lanna Elephant Kingdom was a perfect activity!

A great way to meet an entrancing troop of elephants. Our guide, Kenny, was knowledgeable, fluent and was, above, super accommodating and friendly. He's been with the company for years, so he knows the animals and handlers well, making for the perfect host. Was fascinating to learn the history and personality of each elephant. Should also mention our driver did a great job in some very wet conditions. Highly recommend.
